Carmen E. Hughes is a corporate diversity consultant and career coach who helps organizations and individuals to implement change, realize their potential, and achieve success beyond what they thought possible.

Carmen’s background as an HR leader is unique, having worked  previously as a senior executive in sales on the trading floor of a major investment bank. During her 20-year career on Wall Street, she played an active role in developing talent and helping the company implement robust diversity recruiting and retention initiatives with measurable success. She soon realized that her background gave her a unique perspective into the business and she had an opportunity to influence the future of the firm. With this objective she successfully transitioned into Human Resources as the Head of Campus Recruiting and Leadership Development.

The importance of giving back to her community was instilled in her at a young age and is still part of her ethos today. Carmen is active in various capacities in her community and serves on the Board for Waterside School and Gabrielle’s Wings.

She is also a member of the Stamford Council for the United Way of Western Connecticut.

Carmen received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard University’s School of Business. She loves to travel with her husband and three kids, play golf and has a passion for running (to date, she has completed two marathons and many half marathons).
