to Complete Our Group of Five!


Opportunity Title: Research/Writer/Storyteller Intern


This opportunity is open to rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students who can start after exams (roughly December 18) and work through Winter Break.


Location: Greater New York Area (work conducted virtually)


Organization Description: Diversity Decoder is a start-up focused on diversity consulting and DEI adult learning and development for business and non-profit organizations.


Opportunity Details: Aligning with student interests, this is an opportunity to do special topic research and potentially compose writing that can contribute to junior paper research, a senior thesis, and/or graduate work. It can also just be an intellectually stimulating way to spend some time. The alum is looking for students with strong research, writing, and storytelling skills who are passionate about America History, culture, diversity, and tracing themes seen in history to the present day.

Strong candidates are:

  • Critical thinkers

  • Passionate about Black history and current events related to Black people (i.e. – BLM)

  • Curious

  • Familiar with digital multimedia 

  • Meticulous record keepers

  • Able to tell a story and or find information that contributes to the overarching story 

  • Researcher/historical detectives

More details about the areas of research concentration will be shared after NDA/contract/scope of work is agreed upon and signed.


Length of Opportunity: Winter Break with possible extension into the spring semester
